Christopher Vargas, LUTCF®, CPFA®, is a financial planner with nearly two decades of experience helping employees of K-12 schools and other nonprofit organizations achieve financial security by optimizing the use of their benefit plans at work.
Chris takes a comprehensive approach to financial planning, focusing on identifying and mitigating hidden risks, while also defining financial goals, assessing risk tolerance, protecting assets, reducing debt, and implementing strategies to improve cash flow and income. He has been working on helping K-12 employees as well as employees of other nonprofit organizations understand their employee benefits packages since 2004.
Chris holds an English Literature degree from Stony Brook University and is a graduate of Xaverian High School in Brooklyn. Since 2008, he's been happily married to his wife, Christina, and they have three children: Ava Giselle, Christopher John Philip, and Atticus Benjamin Henry.
Actively involved in the Wading River-Shoreham community, Chris volunteers as a coach for both the North Shore Little League and Long Island Sound Sharks Football teams. He previously served as President of the Greater Mastic Beach Chamber of Commerce.
Chris enjoys cheering on the New York Mets and Giants. He's also a fan of classic 1960s anthology television shows, particularly The Twilight Zone. Additionally, he has a passion for collecting Star Wars memorabilia, vintage toys, and items related to Marvel and DC Comics.
